Bar paragliding is the high-start panoramic route of Paragliding Beauty.

What Bar paragliding means

Bar is the high-start Paragliding Beauty location. The flight begins from Vrsuta, on the Sutorman mountain massif, at about 1165 m above sea level.

This is a more panoramic format than Petrovac. The value is not only the flight itself, but the whole mountain-to-sea sequence: meeting in Bar, driving up the mountain, reaching the summit, reading the 360-degree view, preparing the wing, and then flying from height toward the sea.

Bar fits people who are already in the area and people who specifically want a higher starting point, a wider panorama and a more mountain-shaped first contact with tandem paragliding.

The summit view

The takeoff place is on the summit, so the first proof is the view before the flight begins.

From the top, the view can open toward:

• the Adriatic Sea
• Bar, slightly in the distance
• the beach and Sutomore below
• inland Montenegro
• Skadar Lake
• distant mountain ranges
• the mountains of Lovcen National Park

This is the main reason Bar belongs to Beauty. It is not a quiet three-bay coast like Petrovac. It is a high panoramic balcony.

How the Bar route usually works

Under standard conditions, the full Bar demonstration usually takes up to 90 minutes from meeting the team to return.

The meeting point is usually in the center of Bar near Kralja Nikole Park.

After meeting the Paragliding Beauty team, the usual rhythm is:

• about 40 minutes by car to Vrsuta
• about 4 km of mountain off-road driving inside that transfer
• a short mountain-safari feeling on the way to the summit
• about 15-20 minutes for preparation, briefing and takeoff / landing instructions
• flight time up to 25 minutes
• landing either on the city beach or in a field near the stadium, depending on conditions
• return to the meeting point after the flight

The road, wind, route choice, landing choice and participant readiness can all change the timing.

Flight character

The Bar route is a mountain-and-sea flight. It starts high, moves from the Sutorman / Vrsuta mountain context toward the coast, and can include flying above both mountains and sea.

When thermal conditions are suitable, the tandem wing may climb in lift up to around 1600 m above sea level. This is never promised in advance. It depends on wind, thermals, route suitability, pilot judgment and participant fit.

Bar has one current participation format:

• high-start Bar tandem demonstration
• up to 25 minutes of flight time
• GoPro footage included under current participation conditions

Photo and video

GoPro photo and video footage is included under the current Bar participation conditions, but the team should confirm the exact arrangement with the route check.

During the flight, the participant usually holds the camera stick, so the footage can include both the participant and the surrounding mountain / sea view. A download link is usually provided during the day.

Participation fee and included footage

As reviewed on 2026-05-26, the current Bar participation fee is 155 euro, with GoPro footage included.

The participation fee is local Bar context, not a guaranteed-flight ticket. It supports the current participation process, pilot readiness, equipment use, weather assessment, briefing, Vrsuta access checks, route judgment and day-of coordination. Participation still depends on current weather, launch and landing suitability, pilot availability, logistics and participant fit.

Suitability and limits

Bar follows the same practical limits as other tandem demonstrations, but the high mountain start and route character make the fit check especially important.

As a working guide, participant weight is usually limited to around 100 kg. Children are usually better considered from around 7 years old for this location. There is no fixed upper age limit by number alone; mobility, comfort, ability to follow simple instructions and pilot judgment matter more.

Participants with limited mobility are not a good fit for this location. Alcohol is not accepted before participation. Fear is not a disqualifier by itself; the team will try to help the participant settle, but the pilot makes the final decision for the day.

What to wear and bring

Dress for a mountain summit and a coastal flight, not only for the temperature in Bar city.

Closed, secure shoes such as trainers are strongly recommended. Bring a windbreaker or warm layer depending on the season. The mountain start and the air during flight can feel around 5-10 C cooler than the temperature by the sea.

Sunglasses are useful for sun, glare and airflow during flight.

Before the flight, it is better not to drink alcohol and not to eat a heavy meal. A light, comfortable state is usually better for the drive, takeoff, flight and landing.

Year-round, but conditions first

Bar can be considered year-round, but the high-start route is not automatic. Weather, wind direction, visibility, thermal activity, landing choice, pilot availability, logistics and participant fit all have to line up.

The useful inquiry is simple: send your date window, number of people, where you are staying, any age / weight / mobility details that matter, and whether Bar is your first choice or backup. The team can then check whether the Vrsuta route is realistic for the day and explain the current participation conditions.
